Well folks, I’m back even if but for a short time. Had my angiogram and they added a new piece to my body with a promise of more. One of my arteries has been completely shut off so I am going to need bypass surgery in one of my legs. Now, I have a big decision to make.
They say that once I have this surgery that I am going to have to take it easy for about a month or longer afterward. This would mean postponing my trip back east to be with my family like I have planned. And considering the plans I made for this trip a postponement of the trip is not a desirable outcome.
My only other alternative is to take the trip as planned and postpone the surgery until I get back in the fall. This is not a very desirable outcome either. I’m not the type that likes to have surgery on his mind while it should be on enjoying the company of each member of his family.
The trip itself was going to be a very extensive trip with stops in about 5 different States, the main one being my home State of Michigan where most of the family is. All I can do is grin when I think of my last trip when I drove the ol’ buggy into the ground and needed a new transmission when I finally got to my destination.
The whole trip would be one of three or four months with about a month of it on the road. My first stop would be in Virginia where my grand niece lives with her Navy husband and two little ones that I have never met yet. Then it would be a trip up to Maryland where one of my nieces lives with her hubby and son who also has a little one I haven’t met.
Then it is on to Michigan where most of the members of my family are where i’ll be staying with another niece and her husband and kids on a farm that they are building up very nicely. BTW, between the both of them they are the parents of nine children. Can you imagine all the Christmas presents that are under the tree at their house for this brood?
While I am there I might just take a trip next door to Wisconsin where another nephew lives with his lovely wife and two kids, one that I haven’t met yet along with stopping off and seeing a couple of friends there. Then it is trip to Colorado on my way back home to see my ex brother in law.
