A “Religion of Peace’s” War Against Women

” The decapitation of a young woman who resisted being forced into prostitution by her own family has led to the arrests of four Afghans, and shocked a country that has seen its share of violence over decades of war.

Mahgul, a 25-year-old newlywed, was murdered in Herat, a region of western Afghanistan where attacks against women have been on the rise, Afghan police told journalists. Her killing this past week was particularly disturbing because her body was found decapitated outside her marital home.

Police said the arrests on Saturday include her mother-in-law, father-in-law, and her husband.

The fourth individual is reported to be her husband’s cousin, who was arrested later after witnesses said he was seen with a bloody knife outside the house at the time the murder took place. The 18-year-old, identified only as Najibullah, confessed to the crime in front of reporters and television cameras, saying his aunt, Parigul, forced him to kill Mahgul.”

A Religion of Peace’s War Against Children

Malala Yousafzai

Malala Yousafzai, a 14-year-old Pakistani activist who won international acclaim for her work promoting peace, and two other young girls were shot and seriously injured Tuesday, police and hospital officials said.

Local police and hospital officials told NBC News that Malala was shot in the neck and head shortly after leaving her school in the Swat region. Doctors said they were working in an attempt to save the lives of all three girls.

Malala was nominated for the International Children’s Peace Prize in 2011 for a blog she wrote under a pseudonym for the BBC. She also won the National Peace Prize in Pakistan, was honored with a school named after her, and quickly became an outspoken critic of the Taliban in Pakistan and public advocate for peace.

In early 2011, the militants had added Malala to their hit list.

“We wanted to kill her as she was pro-West, she was speaking against Taliban and more important she was calling President Obama as her ideal. She was young but was promoting a Western culture in the Pakhtun populated areas,” Ihsanullah Ihsan, the spokesman of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan or TTP said Tuesday.

AHHHHH, Joe Biden Got His Comeuppance in Virginia

Joe Biden was told he and his Press entourage wasn’t welcomed into one man’s place of business in spite of the promised free publicity it would bring. Isn’t it nice to live in a country where you can say “No” to the Vice President of the nation?

Who Do You Side With?

The County Election

I know it is a bit early to be thinking about who to vote for but thought I might give you some ideas to think about for the next few months. I have always been an advocate of voting for someone that you feel would make the best candidate for the office. I have never been an advocate of voting for someone just because you are against his opponent and the person you are voting for has the best chance of winning the election over him.

In order to vote for the best candidate for the office a person has to take a stance on all of the issues that the candidate must deal with and determine for himself how the best way of dealing with it. It is only then that you have the ability to cast an informed ballot. That, to me, is the most important part of the duty of electing someone into office.

Once this is accomplished then a person should study the position of each of the candidates so as to determine just how he proposes to handle each of the issues. It is only when this is done can a person enter into that voting booth and cast a ballot for the candidate that a person is in agreement with on the issues. In my opinion, to vote in any other manner is being hypocritical.

But regardless of who you are thinking of voting for I ran across a web site that might aid a person in making a more informed decision. It requires a few minutes of your time to determine where you stand on the issues but when finished it will use this to show you which of the candidates would carry out the duties of office in a manner that you would approve of. Of course this depends upon his keeping his word on his stance on the issues.

I think you’ll find this site informative and enlightening and you might find the results startling too. Anyways here is the link to the site.

Grandpa and Arrogance

Foolish Thoughts?

Grandpa and some friends of his was just sitting in front of the barber shop discussing one of their favorite topics, politics. Grandpa was unusually quiet this day and mostly listened to the arguments of the other men. One of the men noticed this quietness and asked grandpa why he was being so quiet. Grandpa just smiled at the question, and in time quietly gave this response.

“Haven’t got much to say today but there is one thing that amuses me as I listen to others argue. Its the feeling that you get that everyone is cock sure that they are right and if you disagree with them then it is you that is the ignorant fool. Another area of discussion with this same effect is a discussion on religion.

There are times that I feel that some persons are afraid of revealing that they possess some ignorance. This is not to declare they will not admit to lacking in knowledge in a general sense. It is when you pin them down to specific topics that they reveal their arrogance and their unwillingness to admit ignorance. And I’ll admit that upon reflexion of some previous acts I find myself guilty of this arrogant attitude also.

I look upon this form of arrogance as a most basic character flaw and it is a flaw that I am constantly at battle with within myself. It is easy to believe that you are the source of all truth which is what the foundational basis of this flaw is and it is very hard to imagine that you be the source of falsehoods. This just indicates just how important the possession of truth is to each of us. Another possibility be that we consider the possession of ignorance as sign that we be fools and no one likes to see themselves as being a fool.

The problem with the above assumptions are the fact that if truth is all that important to us we would find no shame in having our ignorance revealed. And if truth was all that important to us then the knowledge of our ignorance would not be a sign that we be fools but a sign of the wisdom within us. For the only way that our ignorance can be revealed is by the fact we learned something that revealed the actual truth to us. And that should make us feel humbled not foolish. And once humbled would we not then have the attitude of humility rather than the feeling of humiliation?

So, what could be more important to us as human beings than the possession of truth? What is the problem with humility that we prefer the attitude of arrogance over it? What is it about humility that leads people to walk away from it rather than embrace it even though it is considered a virtue not a vice? What attitude do we seek to possess that is taught that must be considered to be of greater virtue than humility? Maybe a better question would be what is the attitude we are taught to possess and then examine that attitude a little closer as to its effects.

This, admittingly, requires self examination to its fullest and the acknowledgment of the possession of arrogance along with the desire to rid ourselves of this arrogant attitude. This is where the problem lies. There are not many people who will admit to the arrogance within themselves thus the desire to rid themselves of it cannot exist. People are fully willing to declare it of others but not of themselves. Why not?”

With these words said grandpa went silent once more leaving his friends with only questions to be answered

Brett Kimberlin Loses, Free Speech Wins

Peace Order Vacated

Great news!!!!! Brett Kimberlin lost his case against a conservative blogger in court. The peace order was soundly vacated without need of defense. Here is the story in Arron’s own words:

“Well, with concern for the weather I missed the fireworks last night, but there were plenty of them today at my hearing against Brett Kimberlin. And like the last time I went to circuit court, the judge found that Kimberlin’s presentation was so poor that I didn’t even have to put on a defense. I will even share with you the court’s official findings in just a minute. But first to set the stage a little bit…”

Welcome to a Totalitarian State, Hope You and Yours enjoy the Stay

Grandpa slowly walked up to the lectern in front of the small crowd that had gathered after hearing of the Supreme Court’s decision on Obamacare. As he spoke you could hear just how disappointed he was in the outcome. Here is what he had to say.

“Well, folks, The Supreme Court has just torn up the whole Constitution. With this ruling on Obamacare the door has been opened to allow the federal government to do whatever it wants without limitation. The federal government now has the power and authority to demand of its citizens whatever the governments says is best. The people no longer possess the right to think for themselves as to what is right for him. We now have a government of absolute authority and power over the people.

The Bill of Rights no longer has any meaning. As far as i’m concerned this ruling was the last nail in the coffin of the great nation that was intended at the beginning. It is only a matter of time before the burial will take place and then what? Where does a man go who loves his liberty? Where in this world can a man go who seeks to live under a government limited in its powers as our government once was?

We are a nation under a totalitarian State. It may be passive at the moment but totalitarian it still be. And it will remain passively totalitarian for as long as the people see it as being a benevolent government. This is what a people gets when they view the government as the servant of the people.

There are persons out there that see this ruling as a short term loss but a long term gain for the right. Others see it as being nothing but a tax issue. Both may be right in a political sense but the Supreme Court made it a Constitutional issue by setting a precedence with this ruling, a precedence that the left will hold the right responsible for and hold them to in any further Supreme Court dealings when similar cases come up to be tested. I see no way around this fact of law making.

The only thing any politician has to do now in order to grab more power is to convince the people to pay higher taxes. Given the attitude towards the rich and the poor that no longer is a hard sell. Convince the people that everyone else other than them will be paying the higher tax and you have a winning argument. Too many people are stuck on the idea of getting a free lunch these days from the government.

As far as I am concerned this upcoming election has only one issue to consider now. The only issue of concern for me to consider when the time to vote for is Obamacare and how hard will that person fight to repeal the law. Every other issue can sit on the back burner and that includes the issues of the deficit and the economy.

This election must be so lopsided as to leave no doubt as to why people were elected. This is one law that if not repealed needs to have mass disobedience. The people need to let government know that it is bad law and that we will not give absolute authority and power to it as it seeks. Are we, as a people, strong enough to do that?

As another man said so eloquently, “Give me liberty or give me death.” that Constitution was clearly written for everyone to understand. That Constitution was written with a specific purpose and intent. And I congratulate the man who was able to convince people that it was not clearly written so as to mislead the people in its purpose and intent. I believe it now can be said that where government is concerned, power takes priority over principle. That I will never accept.

So, where can a man go who seeks only the freedom of living his life as he has chosen? Where can a man go where he can enjoy the benefits of his own decisions and is willing to accept the consequences of them also? Where can I go and take my grandson so that he may grow up and know the freedom of his choices.? How can the boy fulfill his full potential without that freedom just taken away from him?”

With these words spoken, grandpa slowly and with sadness showing in his face walked back to his seat by grandma. It was as if the future had been stolen from him this day and nobody seemed to care.
